Opuntia Ficus Indica (Prickly Pear)
The Prickly Pear is a cactus that grows in abundance around the Mediterranean basin. Prickly Pear Oil is a very precious and very rare oil obtained only by cold pressing the seeds of Opuntia ficus indica. Extraction yields are very low since there is only 5% oil in the small seed, hence its very high cost.
This precious oil has astonishing regenerating and anti-dehydration qualities for the skin, widely used by Tunisian ancestors to reduce scars. It's exceptional richness in Vitamin E (around 1000 mg/kg) and sterols (around 10 g/kg) is useful for protecting the skin against damage linked to free radicals. It also contains significant quantities of essential fatty acids, including linoleic acid (omega-6), and constitutes an excellent skin softening and repairing agent. This oil is therefore an exceptional allied ingredient to fight against the signs of skin aging.
